Junaid’s all-round performance helps in Handwara Sports win
Palhallan, June 27: Handwara Sports defeated Magam Lions by 7 wickets in the on going Palhallan Super Cup Cricket tournament here at Palhallan ground on Thursday.
Earlier, Magam Lions won the toss and decided to bat first. While batting first Magam Lions failed to face fiery spell of Saleem and lost top order batsmen on the score of 13, Muzamil was the only batsman for Magam Lions who turned into double figures by scoring 27 runs, Junaid Ahmad took 4 wickets in his spell by conceading just 12 runs while Saleem strike bowler for Handwara Sports took 3 wickets in 3 overs by consuming just 3 runs. Hence Magam Lions team was bundled on 73 runs.
In reply, Handwara Sports top 3 batters departed on just 6 runs, it was Junaid Ahmad again who came to rescue his team and scored unbeaten 53 runs, while Aqib contributed well 15 runs & chased down the target of 74 in 11.2 overs for the loss of 3 wickets .
Junaid Ahmad was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
