Rocky rocks to plot Tulmull collapse; Bindroo, Akash, Raj dazzle with willow
Rocky Raina of Sai Cricket Club rocked with the ball, scalping 6 important wickets to plot collapse of Tulmull Tigers, while Amit Bindroo, Akash Raina and Raj Bhat sparkled with the willow as Sai Cricket Club and Ikvat Cricket Club today registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPPL) Edition-III, being organised by Lalitaditya Education, Sports and Health Organisation, under the patronage of its President, Anil Bhat and overall supervision of Ankur Bagati and Ashish Kachroo at KC Sports Club ground, here.
In the first match played today, Sai Cricket Club got the better of Tulmull Tigers in an easy contest by 9 wickets.
Batting first, Tulmull Tigers bundled out for 112 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Deepak Raina top scored with 21 runs off 24 balls, studded with 2 fours.
Rocky Raina was the wrecker-in-chief for Sai Cricket Club, who plotted collapse of the rivals, taking 6 wickets by conceding 19 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, Sai Cricket Club chased the target easily in 10.2 overs by losing 1 wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Akash Raina top scored with power-packed 62 runs off 37 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Chander Mohan contributed 40 runs off 22 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.
For Tulmull Tigers, none of the bowlers was impressive. Rocky Raina was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
In another match, Ikvat Cricket Club got the better of Last Picks XI in an easy contest by 30 runs.
Batting first, Ikvat Cricket Club scored a good total of 172 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Amit Bindroo played a brilliant innings of 83 runs off 44 deliveries, studded with 7 fours and 5 sixes. He showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up power-packed half-century, displaying sublimity and brilliance.
None of the bowlers from Last Picks XI hit good areas to restrict batsmen.
In reply, Last Picks XI scored 142 runs in 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process, thus lost the match by 30 runs. Rajat Bhat contributed 60 runs off 39 deliveries including 9 fours and 2 sixes.
For Ikvat Cricket Club, Akash Saproo took 2 wickets, while Sunny Mattoo and Anil Mantoo claimed 1 wicket each. Amit Bindroo was adjudged as the man of the match for his magnificent batting display.
Rashim Deepika, Financial Advisor Science and Technology Department, J&K was the chief guest in post match presentation, who alongwith Vinay Thussu honoured man of the match awardees.
