JK Senior National Carrom team flagged off
Ms Fozia Paul (Sub Judge, Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, Srinagar) Flagged off the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Team. The other guests present during the occasion were DySp Sheikh Aadil (PC Srinagar International Airport), Zeeshan Khan (Asst. Director Tourism Kashmir), Rauf Tramboo (Former Member J&K Sports Council), Mudasir Khan (President), Adil Rashid Shah (General Secretary), Adfar Jan (Joint Secretary), Arif Sultan (Secretary), Dawar Rashid (Member) & other members of the association were also present. The team will represent Jammu & Kashmir at 50th (Golden Jubilee) Senior National Carrom Championship which is going to be held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi from November 7 to November 11 2022. The Championship is organised by All India Carrom Federation. The team were flagged off from TRC, Srinagar.
Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association selected 12 members team include Furqan Nazir, Arsalan Nazir, Romin Fayaz, Shahid Ahmad, Fuzail Khan & Zaid Bin Ajaz in the men team and Anzalna Rafiq, Mehak Nabi, Kazima Khursheed, Ridda Maddni, Anisa Qayoom & Shazia Noor in the Women team for the participation in the said national, Danish Bashir & Asra Shafi will accompany the team as Manager Men & Women team respectively, Arif Sultan Secretary & Dawar Rashid Member of the J&K Carrom Association will also accompany the team.
While Flag Off Ms Fozia Paul, Zeeshan Khan, Rauf Tramboo interacted with the players, encouraged them to work hard in Studies simultaneously in sports as well to get laurels for the Jammu & Kashmir, the Guests wished all the players & association good luck for the Championship.
Earlier, the players were selected by selection committee of the J&K Sports Council headed by Mrs Nuzhat Ara (Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir), Mr Maqsood Khan (Manager SKISC) with the members of the J&K Carrom Association headed by Adil Rashid Shah General Secretary & Arif Sultan Secretary of the J&K Carrom Association were also part of screening committee of the J&K Carrom Association. The 15 members team is Sponsored by the J&K Carrom Association.
