Er. Samiullah guides PHE Jalshakti team in title win

Jalshakti PHE Kashmir won the 2nd Inter-Department cricket tournament at Kashmir University:

Defending champions Jalshakti PHE Kashmir are the crown champions of Inter-departmental cricket tournament once again defeating Youth services and sports department by 56 runs.

Jalshakti PHE batting first scored 161 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Er. Samiullah beigh ( North Zone player and former captain of J&K Ranji team) scored unbeaten 45 runs while Sajad (Sultan) scored 48 runs.

In reply YSS Department team was bundled for 106 runs. For YSS Tahir scored 26 runs, while for PHE shahid took four wickets, Waseem Qayoom took 2 and Samiullah beigh took 1 wicket. PHE department team won the title by 55 runs. Er. Samiullah beigh was declared player of the match while Shahid Aftab was declared player of the tournament for his outstanding all-round performance through out the tournament.

Registrar Kashmir university Mr. Nisar Ahmad Mir speaking on the occasion said that KU will organise many such events regularly and support interdepartment cricket.

Guest of Honour Chief Engineer Jalshakti PHE Kashmir Er. Iftikhaar Ahmad Wani congratulated both teams and assured that Jalshakti team shall get all kinds of support from the department so that this team participate in tournaments outside J&K as well.

Director Physical education Mr. Nisar Ahmad Khan thanked all the teams for participation and congratulated Jalshakti team for defending their title successfully.
