BCF Kashmir Cup: Sultan Warriors Baramulla are the champions of BCF Kashmir cup

BCF Kashmir Cup 2022

Sultan Warriors Baramulla are the champions of BCF Kashmir cup.

Jehangir Lone of all people crowned Sultan Warriors baramulla as the champions of BCF kashmir cup over Gani Auto Wheels here at Jehlum Stadium Baramulla.

Jehangir Lone decimated Gani Auto Wheels bowlers with a 22 ball 62 after they opted to bat first. Every Sultans batter contributed with Jehangir lone being the wrecker in chief. He came to the crease at 14.3 and all of a sudden he fired 22 ball 62 hitting as many as 8 sixes. His blitz powered Sultans to 211. Adil Reshi and Aasim Bashir also helped them with their scores of 34 and 45 respectively.

The Gani Auto Wheels bowlers had somehow stopped Sultans batters with brisk scoring but it was Jehangir lone who made them lost the plot in the last part of their innings. Liyakat was the only bowler to pick up a couple of wickets.

The chase of 212 was a mountain to climb for Gani Auto Wheels given the pressure of the game. Their prime batter Lone Liyakat had a rare failure in the most important game of the tournament when he was caught out on the bowling of Imtiyaz Lefty. His dismissal opened the flood gates for Sultans bowlers as they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. The batting order collapsed and eventually they were bundled out on 121. The bottomline could have been different only for Muntazir who saved the pride of Gani Auto Wheels with a 40 ball half century. He went on to score 42 ball 53 while the next top scorer of the innings was a mere 14. This sums up the batting collapse of Gani Auto Wheels.

It was Waseem Raza again who remained the pick of the bowlers with another triplet to his name while Aqib mir too got into the wickets column with a couple of wickets to his name.

At the post match presentation ceremony it was a no surprise that Jehangir Lone was given the Man of the match award for his thunderous batting while Abid Nabi was given thr MVP of tournament.

The whole tournament was played on turf wickets at Jehlum Stadium under the supreme vision of Baramulla Cricket Forum.
