
63rd Wushu Championship Kicked Off
Department of YSS Doing A Great Job: MOS Sports
15 Teams Participating In The Mega Championship.
Jammu 19 Dec: “The Department of Youth Services and Sports is doing exceptionally well in tapping and encouraging sports talent in the state of J&K”, this was stated by Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports Sunil Kumar Sharma while declaring the 63rd School National in Wushu open at Paloura Ground here. Sharma while congratulating the participating teams stated that the Government will provide every possible help to the Department for creating a better sports culture in the state. He while welcoming the guest teams from different states of the country congratulated them for being part of such a big sports tourney.Earlier Director Youth Services and Sports Department Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed while welcoming the participating contingents said that the championship is being organized for the U/17 and U/19 age group boys and 15 Teams from different states of the country are participating in it. While making a mention of those state contingents who are taking part in different National Level tournaments being organized in various parts of the country, Fayaz Ahmed said that the Department is enthusiastic about such participations as the last year also our young budding players achieved many medals in different games and sports.
Additional Secretary to Govt Youth Services and Sports Department Rajnish Kumar and other senior officials of the Department of Youth Services and Sports were also present on the inaugural ceremony of the Wushu National which is being organized by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports under the aegis of School Games Federation Of India.
